The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) was established in terms of the Financial Sector Regulation Act No. 9 of 2017. The FSCA is responsible for market conduct regulation and supervision. It also aims to enhance and support the efficiency and integrity of financial markets and to protect financial customers by promoting their fair treatment by financial institutions, as well as providing financial customers with financial education.

The Consumer Education Department (CED) of the FSCA has a responsibility to fulfil the above legislative mandate by, among others, conducting consumer financial literacy programmes and managing stakeholder relationships.

The FSCA will implement the Youth Financial Awareness campaign in the three provinces namely: Gauteng (Vosloorus and Sebokeng), Eastern Cape (Umtata) and Mpumalanga (Kwamhlanga). The campaign primarily aims to increase financial literacy, through greater awareness regarding financial management and pitfalls that lead to bad financial decisions. The secondary purpose is to encourage entrepreneurship, expose youth to Small Medium and Micro-sized Enterprises (SMMEs) funding sources and link youth to potential employers in various industries.

The FSCA aims to achieve this through partnering with various stakeholders in the financial services industry, business services, economic development sector etc. The campaign will consist of a series of roadshows comprising of a live outside broadcast, exhibition, workshops, presentations and edutainment. The theme of the campaign is finance, entrepreneurship and employment.

The target audience for this campaign is youth who are graduates, in school youth, economically inactive youth and unemployed youth.

The FSCA would like to invite the youth to participate at each of the four roadshows
